I was going today through this report which says that Indian’s are preferring hybrid work arrangements. A new report from Unispace called “From Restrictions to Resilience” shows that Indian workers and their employers are very happy with hybrid work arrangements. According to the report, 97% of employees and 98% of employers in India said they like this setup. This is much higher than the global averages of 87% for employees and 95% for employers.

Last year, many Indian employees were willing to take pay cuts to work from home—31% of them did so, nearly double the global average of 16%.

While most employees prefer to come to the office for face-to-face collaboration, they actually spend a lot less time at their desks. Indian employees only sit at their desks 50% of the time they’re in the office, which is the lowest in the world.

In 2023, 96% of employers felt their workplace encouraged innovation, but this dropped to 85% in 2024. The report also notes that Indian employees find it hard to be productive at the office due to noise and issues with temperature and air quality. They also struggle to find time to exercise during the workday, which can lead to exhaustion.

The big question is, what workplace changes are we willing to do for this?
