The Indian government has issued an urgent alert, advising Microsoft Edge users to update their browsers to the latest version due to critical security vulnerabilities. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has identified several flaws in versions before 129.0.2792.79, which could allow attackers to bypass security controls and execute harmful code on devices.
CERT-In reports these vulnerabilities are linked to issues like improper data validation in Mojo and the V8 JavaScript engine, as well as an integer overflow in the Layout component. These flaws can be exploited by directing users to malicious websites or compromised HTML files, potentially exposing sensitive data.
Users are strongly urged to update their browsers to secure their devices, as failure to do so could result in significant security risks. CERT-In also recommends staying informed about security updates and practicing good online safety habits to guard against cyber threats.
